The following six applicants have been advanced to the finals: Aletheia Piano Trio, Heabin Yu Kwon/Soprano, Daniel Moody/Countertenor, Jennifer Panara/Mezzo Soprano, Talcott Piano Trio, and Solera String Quartet.
Finalists will each have 25 minutes to perform a program of their choice, following by 10 minutes of discussion with the jury. Jury chair, Gilbert Kalish, and members Timothy Eddy, Kayo Iwama, Lucy Shelton and Carmit Zori will then deliberate to select one applicant for the Pro Musicis International Award. The criteria include a high level of artistic inspiration demonstrated in performance and a passion for social outreach demonstrated in the artist’s project and discussion with jury.
The Award offers membership in the family of esteemed Pro Musicis artists, an all expenses paid New York City debut with commensurate fee in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, a $4,000 Father Eugène Merlet Community Service Award to initiate/advance the winner’s social service project, a state of the art recording with Yamaha Artist Services New York, additional performance opportunities including community service, and six hours of professional consultation in career development, media relations and/or artist management.
