Pro Musicis International Award announcement letter

October 18, 2018

Dear Catherine,

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Jury chaired by Gilbert Kalish, it is my pleasure to confirm that you have been selected for the 2018 Pro Musicis International Award. Welcome to the roster of Pro Musicis artists.

Your award will be officially conferred at the Annual Award Gala in May 2019, Consulate of France, New York City, where you will be the featured performer.

Father Eugène Merlet, a French Capuchin Franciscan priest and musician, founded Pro Musicis in Paris in 1965 to nurture and share the artistic inspiration of the world’s finest concert artists. He pioneered the concept of a classical music award combined with a social mission.

We trust you will embrace these Pro Musicis values:

  • Music is vital for the well being of all
  • The spiritual message of music must be at the heart of all we do
  • The greatest joy in life is derived from giving joy to others.

Your award includes a debut concert in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall in the fall of 2019, a state of the art recording with Yamaha Artist Services, career development and performance opportunities, and The Father Merlet Award of $4,000 in support of your project entitled Just Breathe, a series of workshops for breast cancer patients and their families.

We are delighted to have you in the Pro Musicis family.

John E. Haag
Executive Director
